What is the first amendment?
The citizens are entitled to freedom of speech, freedom of the press(gov. can’t limit the news), freedom of religion, freedom to assemble(marches), and freedom to petition the government(complaints about the gov without punishment).
What is the second amendment?
As a citizen, you have the right to bear arms for their own defense and to secure a free state.
What is the third amendment?
Soldiers cannot be housed in a house or on a property without the consent of the owner even in a time of war. This can only happen if it is justified by the law.
What is the fourth amendment?
Citizens have the right to what you own, what is on your person, or in your house against unreasonable search and seizure. Warrants can only be issued with probable cause
What is the fifth amendment?
Amendment five states that if you are accused of a major felony you have the right to a jury, you can’t be held to the same offense twice, rights can’t be taken away, property can’t be taken away, and you can’t be forced to be a witness against yourself.
What is the sixth amendment?
In criminal prosecutions, citizens have the right to an attorney and if you can’t afford one, one will be given to you. Citizens also have the right to a speedy and public trial that is near where the crime is committed, and all your rights must be given to you.
What is the seventh amendment?
If a fine exceeds $20, you have the right to a jury trial.
What is the eighth amendment?
Citizens have the right to no excessive fines, bails, or unusual or cruel punishment.
What is the ninth amendment?
No law may infringe or go against any of the previous 8 amendments.
What is the tenth amendment?
If a certain power is not addressed in the Constitution, the States have the right to address that problem in what way they see fit.
