1st amendment
Protects everyones freedom of speech, worship, press.
If the government controlled the press there would be propaganda from the gov so you would only see the side that the gov wants you to see.

2nd amendment
Right to bare arms, everyone has the right to own a gun but in some states have different laws than other states. Who can carry it, how to carry it, etc.

3rd amendment
Goes against the quarting act. You need consent if you want to stay in someone’s house.

Can’t be arrested and be in jail forever
Rights to be allowed to have a fast trial with a jury.
5th amendment
Right to remain silent. Protects people from incriminating themselves when interrogated.

Protection for the people in a lawsuit
This amendment guarantees a trial by jury in civil cases

4th amendment
You cannot have the right to search without a warrant. Police cannot just come and search your house. If a police think your are a threat then they can.

8th amendment
Punishment is based on the situtaiton.
You can’t be in jail for 20 years if you got a parking ticket, your punishment has to be based off your actions.

10th amendment
The 10th Amendment means that if the Constitution doesn’t give a specific power to the federal government, then the states or the people get to make decisions about it.
9th amendment
It says that all the rights not listed in the Constitution belong to the people, not the government. In other words, the rights of the people are not limited to just the rights listed in the Constitution.
