A

A Surprise attack launched from a concealed position upon an unsuspecting, moving, or temporarily enemy. It does not, however, envisage the capture.

Purpose of ambush

A

To destroy as many of the enemy, his equipment vehicles and animal transport, as possible.
2. To obtain information of intelligence value, for example, identification and documents.
3. Numbers of his troops are tied down on purely protective duties.
4. To demoralize the enemy and give confidence and sense of achievement to own troops.
5. To impose caution and create fear in the minds of the enemy, and to inhibit his patrolling.

  1. Opportunity Ambush
    a. Exe on spur of the moment.

    a. Planned and exe to achieve a definite aim.
