What is QNE?

A

Atmospheric pressure (or isobar) of a standard day at sea level; 29.92 inHg

What is QFE?

A

Atmospheric pressure at a set point, like an aerodrome. When set to QFE, altimeter will read the height above set point.

Can be remembered as “Query: Field Elevation”

What is QFF?

A

Mean sea level pressure derived from actual conditions.
For meteorologists.
(Produces an altimeter with no error when at mean sea level)

What is QNH?

A

Actual atmospheric pressure at sea level.
When set to QNH, altimeter will read altitude.

Can be remembered as “Query: Nautical Height”
