partial: may stay conscious, part of brain
generalized: unconscious, whole brain
tonic phase:rigid
clonic phase: shaking
posticial phase: regain consciousness
some precede seizures by aura
-bc of hypoxia, stroke, brain injury, toxins, hypoglycemia, tumor, infection, idiopathic, epilepsy
