What actions did you take to complete the task?

A1:
- Realised emphasis on rote learning so promoted active learning environment to encourage practical speaking skills and engagement

- Communicating expectations: briefed JTEs in advance, explained lesson objectives, how they could support students
- Why briefing JTE was important: concepts could be misunderstood through language and cultural barrier. Proactive communication

What was the outcome?
(Communicated and provided influence as a teacher)

- Outcome: Effective teaching, led as a teacher to communicate unfamiliar customs to young adults whilst also improving their language abilities

- Respecting Japan’s societal customs, responses and opinions of other students and teachers

- Positive feedback from students: enjoyed lesson content and my interactive and engaging teaching style
- influenced 35 Japanese students to join elective ‘Global Cultures course in the second year to participate in international school exchanges
