ALS 2.0 Flashcards
What’s are the 4 H’s
- Hypoxia
- Hypo/Hyperthermia
- Hypo/hyperkalaemia,hypoglycaemia,hypocalcaemia, metabolic disorders
- Hypo/hyperthermia
What are the 4 T’s
- Tension pneumothorax
- Tamponade
- Thrombosis
- Toxins
Interventions in CA for Hypoxia
O2 (non rebreather 15L/ BVM) airway adjuncts & manoveors, check ETT placement( if applicable)
Interventions in CA for Hypovolaemia
IVT + blood replacement, expose pt, check wounds/ distension (internal bleeding), drains
Hypovolaemic arrests commonly present with what cardiac rhythm
PEA
Interventions in CA for HyperKalaemia
- VBG
- calcium chloride 10% in 10mls
- glucose 25g + 10u short acting insulin
- sodium bicarbonate 50mmol Iv
Interventions in CA for Hypokalaemia
Potassium 5mmol Iv boils
Mag 2g IV
Causes of Hypokalemia
Drugs
Gastrointestinal
Renal/dialysis
Poor intake
Interventions in CA for Hypothermia
Rewarming (Warm IVT, bear hugger) IDC temp prob if able
Interventions in CA for Hyperthermia
Active cooling (Cold IVT, Ice packs)
Interventions in CA for Thrombosis suspected PE
Fibrinolysis
*Risk of bleeding
Interventions in CA for Thrombosis suspected coronary thrombosis
PCI & obtain automatic CPR machine during
Interventions in CA for Tension Pneumothorax
US
Decompress - Thoracostomy/ Thoracocentasis
Chest drain
