What is Self
Composed of various identities, attitudes, beliefs, values,motives and experiences with respect to their communities and the institution they are in (Gekas and Burke 1995)
Suggested that the development of a concept of self has two aspects

The most basic part of the self-scheme or self-concept.
The sense of being separate and distinct from others.
