A
- large, gross movement
- difficulty following directions; need more visual cues
- sensory experience, stimulation, exercise

A
- repetition and manipulation
- NOT goal-directed
- clients must be interested in activity
- more demand for timing and structure
- no more than 30 minutes (attention)
- all materials within arms reach
- 1 step at a time

Level 4 Groups
A
- goal-directed
- no more than 1 hour (attention)
- sequencing; problem-solving
- environment is important: everything in the visual field is usable, anything not is not valuable
- demonstration & visual instruction required
- NO written instruction
- diagrams & pictures can be helpful
- ask leading questions to promote thought and sequencing

Level 5 Groups
A
- focus is SAFETY
- impulsivity/ lack of planning/ anticipation
- able to make decisions
- several steps in the activity
- therapist observes when group is using dangerous items

A
- members may be placed in a level 5 group for observation or when possible decline is suspected
