All-Ceramic Flashcards
explain difference between monolithic and bilithic all ceramic restorations
monolithic = machined from single block of ceramic
bilithic = coping made from glass ceramic or zirconia and porcelain built over coping
what luting cement is ideal for all ceramic restorations?
RMGIC or resin luting system
dual cured system preferred - setting from cure and chemical reactions
what are ceramics etched with prior to cementation?
hydrofluoric acid
what % HF application is required for aluminium oxide and leucite/lithium disilicate? what about glass infiltrated materials?
aluminium oxide = 10% HF for 1 min, rinse then silane
leucite/lithium disilicate = 5% HF for 1 min, rinse then silane
glass inifltrated = air abrasion then MDP (adhesion promoting agent)
what materials are used to lute all ceramic restorations?
RMGI luting (relyX)
zinc carboxylate luting (polyF)
what material is used for bonding all ceramics? what component allows for bonding between bonding between metal and tooth?
panavia resin cement
(its MDP monomer alloys for bonding between metal and tooth structure)
