Marchesi Antinori Tignanello Toscana IGT (“Super Tuscan”) 2019

A

One of the original Super Tuscans from prestigious Marchesi Antinori. Tignanello was the first Sangiovese to be aged in barriques, the first contemporary red wine blended with untraditional varieties (specifically Cabernet) and one of the first red wines in the Chianti Classico region that didn’t use white grapes. Blend: 80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc.
#5 Wine Spectator Top 100 of 2022: Tignanello 2019 is an intense ruby red color. Complex notes of red fruits give rise to delicate aromas of apricots and peaches with sensations of vanilla, dried flowers, chocolate and spice. Its bouquet is complemented by notes of coffee, caramel and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, the wine is rich and vibrant with silky tannins. Its lengthy finish and aftertaste bring back coffee and chocolate notes perceived on the nose.
Pairs perfectly with Tarbell’s Bolognese

Domaine Tempier Bandol Rose 2021

A

Wine Spectator 92 pts: Tightly coiled and dense, this is still inviting and begins to unfurl with time in the glass. This has beautiful range to the ripe red berry and sweet currant flavors, which are set against savory, salty, fine-grained mineral and crushed dried thyme accents. A stunning rosé that’s built to last. Mourvèdre, Grenache and Cinsault.
Pairs perfectly with the Pan Seared Sea Bass

2020 Chateau Simone Palette Rose, Provence

A

Mostly Grenache (45%) and Mourvèdre (30%) with Cinsault (5%) and 20% of Syrah, Manosquin, Castet, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Muscat Noir.
Rich with raspberries, blood orange, citrus and herbs, this rich and mineral-driven rosé holds onto its natural acidity, as it does not undergo malolactic fermentation thanks to the very cool cellars of this historic château. Organic farming, limestone soils, natural yeasts, neutral oak, and north-facing slopes (which preserve freshness in a warm region) all contribute to the character and complexity of the wine.
Château Simone has been owned by the Rougier family since 1830, and today cultivates approximately half of the vineyards in the small appellation of Palette, which owes its AOC status to the efforts of Jean Rougier in 1948.

A

Envinate is a high-profile, minimal-intervention wine producer making a range of wines from across western Spain, covering the Canary Islands, Galicia and the southeast. The Lousas Vinas de Aldea comes from Ribeira Sacra, in Galicia in Northwestern Spain.
The blend ends up being about 80% Mencia and 20% a mix of the other local grape varieties like Brancellao, Caiño, Sousón, Garnacha Tintorera and others. Grapes are harvested by hand, ferment with native yeasts, and age in concrete, used French oak and foudres.
Fresh and elegant, it shows delicate herbal aromatics, black pepper, and vibrant pomegranate on the nose, and a medium-bodied palate brimming with macerated strawberries, mineral notes, and delicate tannins.
