A
  • enters the bloodstream via the gut which alters your nervous system, reflex times…
  • you may develop cirrhosis of the liver which destroys liver tissue. active cells are replaced with irreversible scar tissue
  • alcohol is a carcinogen so heavy drinkers increase risk of liver cancer which spreads rapidly
  • long term it can cause the brain to not function properly
  • can take years for symptoms to occur but short term heavy drinking can have the same effect
