A

Responsibilty- emphasise that the individual is resposnible or making their own decisions
Advice- straight forward advice on modifiying drug use
Menu of options- to make clients involvement in decison making
Empathetic- be respectful, non judgemental
Self efficacy- express optimism that the individual can modfy their substance use if they choose. Ability to produce a desired result or effect
