What level is excessive drinking according to the NHMRC guidelines?
More than 2 standard drinks per day for men and women over long term, and more than 4 standard drinks on any one occasion
What are some characteristic signs of a heavy drinker?
plethoric facies, “greasy” facies, telangiectasia, rosacea + rhinophyma, bloodshot conjunctivae, prominent lower lip with chelitis of corners of mouth, smell of stale alcohol of breathmint/ mouthwash (masking)
