A condition in which fat builds up in the liver and cannot be broken down - reversible IF the person stops drinking

Steps taken to help ensure safety of a person who has consumed too much alcohol
Depressant
A drug that slows the central nervous system (brain)
Tolerance
When more of a substance is needed to feel the same effects one used to with less of the substance.
Liver
Only organ in the body that can process drugs (including alcohol)
BAC
The amount of alcohol in the bloodstream - blood alcohol concentration
0.08
Legal limit for alcohol in the bloodstream (if 21 years or older) - especially applies to operation of machinery (including driving a car)
One Hour
The approximate amount of time it takes the liver to process one serving of alcohol.
5 Ounces
One serving of wine
12 Ounces
One serving of beer
1.5 Ounces
One serving of liquor
First step of bacchus maneuver
Raise closest arm above head
Second step of bacchus maneuver
Roll person onto their SIDE
Third step of bacchus maneuver
Tuck other hand under their cheek.
Final step of bacchus maneuver
Check on person often. If breathing slows to 1/10 seconds - MUST call 911!
