Organophosphates: Source, manner, mechanism of action, modes of administration, presentation
A
S: asepticide, anti-lice shampoo
M: suicidal/accidental
Moa: inactives AChE in nerve endings leading to build up of Acetylcholine in nerve endings. ACH is found in central & peripheral nervous system & neuromuscular junctions. ACh will be degraded into choline & acetic acid by the AChE. Increase of Ah leads to stimulation of nicotinic & muscarinic receptors.
Adme?: inhalation, ingestion
