بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِیمِ ٱقۡرَأۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ﴿ ١ ﴾

• Sahih International:
Recite in the name of your Lord who created -

Al-ʿAlaq, Ayah 1

Created man from a clinging substance.

No! [But] indeed, man transgresses

Because he sees himself self-sufficient.

Have you seen if he is upon guidance

Or enjoins righteousness?

Have you seen if he denies and turns away -

أَلَمۡ یَعۡلَم بِأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَرَىٰ﴿ ١٤ ﴾

• Sahih International:
Does he not know that Allah sees?

كَلَّا لَىِٕن لَّمۡ یَنتَهِ لَنَسۡفَعَۢا بِٱلنَّاصِیَةِ﴿ ١٥ ﴾

• Sahih International:
No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock -

نَاصِیَةࣲ كَـٰذِبَةٍ خَاطِئَةࣲ﴿ ١٦ ﴾

• Sahih International:
A lying, sinning forelock.

فَلۡیَدۡعُ نَادِیَهُۥ﴿ ١٧ ﴾

• Sahih International:
Then let him call his associates;

سَنَدۡعُ ٱلزَّبَانِیَةَ﴿ ١٨ ﴾

• Sahih International:
We will call the angels of Hell.

Al-ʿAlaq, Ayah 18

What is verse 19 of the surah and its translation?

Answer 19

كَلَّا لَا تُطِعۡهُ وَٱسۡجُدۡ وَٱقۡتَرِب ۩﴿ ١٩ ﴾

• Sahih International:
No! Do not obey him. But prostrate and draw near [to Allah ].
