Pain Management
Only one of the following:
Fentanyl 1 mcg/kg IV/IM slowly every 5 minutes
- -Max dose = 100 mcg
- -Max Total dose = 200 mcg
Dilaudid
Adult- 0.5-1.0 mg IV/IM every 10 min to max of 2 mg
Geriatric (>65 y.o.)- 0.5 mg IV/IM every 10 min to max of 1 mg
Sedation
Versed (Midazolam) – Up to 5 mg IV/IM repeat up to 10 mg
Ativan (Lorazepam) – 2 mg IV/IM may repeat once.
PEEP
5 cm H2O
Tidal Volume, Rate, CO2
5-8 ml/kg at 8-12 BPM
CO2 at 35-45
Cardiac Arrest Vent settings
TV = 500-600 ml and rate of 8-10 BPM
Why should you consider a cervical collar with an intubated patient?
To prevent extubation d/t neck flexion.
