What are the traffic patterns for each runway at your home airport. What is the MSL altitude for the traffic pattern?

A

Enter Pattern at 45 degrees downwind. 1200 feet MSL. 100 KIAS. Power 50% and Put in 1st set of flaps ABeam. Turn Base at 90 KIAS add second set of flaps. ~78 KIAS on final. Land 7 degree pitch.

A

Enter Pattern at 45 degrees downwind. Exit pattern on departure leg. Call CTAF 123.075 on enter and exit.

A

CTAF Call at 10 and 5 miles out to downwind. Over fly airport at 500 feet above pattern altitude to get a visual. Position for downwind. Call at downwind, base, and final.

A

Surface to 2,500 feet AGL for airports with an operational control tower. Two way communication is required or at least acknowledgment of your aircraft over the radio from ATC.

What is CTAF? Explain the CTAF procedures at your home airport.

A

CTAF is the Common Traffic advisory Frequency. It is used as a way for aircraft to broadcast their position and intentions to other aircraft in the area. State who you are talking to, who you are, where you are, what you are doing/going and/or what your intentions are.

A

A yellow cross closed runway markings present or a raised light X is present. check NOTAMS and listen to ATIS
