Maneuvers intentionally performed by an aircraft involving an abrupt change in its altitude, an abnormal altitude, or an abnormal variation in speed.
Acrobatic flight
Any individual who engages, as the person in command or as pilot, mechanic, aeronautical engineer, flight radio operator or member of the crew, in the navigation of aircraft while underway and any individual who is directly in charge of inspection, maintenance, overhauling, or repair of aircraft, aircraft engine, propellers, or appliances; and individual who serves in the capacity of aircraft dispatcher or air traffic control operator.

Approved training

Approved Maintenance Organization
The performance of tasks required to ensure the continuing airworthiness of an aircraft, including any one or combination of overhaul, inspection, replacement, defect rectification, and the embodiment of a modification or repair.
Maintenance
A document which describes the specific scheduled maintenance tasks and their frequency of completion and related procedures, such as a reliability programme, necessary for the safe operation of those aircraft to which it applies.
Maintenance program
A certification confirming that the maintenance work to which it relates has been complied with in accordance with the applicable standards of airworthiness, using approved data.
Maintenance release
The State having jurisdiction over the organization responsible for the type design.
State of Design
The State having jurisdiction over the organization responsible for the final assembly of the aircraft, engine or propeller.
State of Manufacture
The State on whose register the aircraft is entered.
State of Registry
Aviation Maintenance Technicians or Specialists who seek reinstatement of their licenses that had already expired shall comply with the following conditions:

Continuing Airworthiness

Major repair
The alteration of an aircraft/aeronautical product in conformity with an approved standard.
Modification
Simple or minor preservation operations and the replacement of small standard parts, not involving complex assembly operations, described in IS: 5.1.1.2(a)(5).
Preventive maintenance
The restoration of an aircraft/aeronautical product using methods, techniques, and practices acceptable to the Authority, including disassembly, cleaning, and inspection as permitted, repair as necessary, and reassembly; and tested in accordance with approved standards and technical data, or in accordance with current standards and technical data acceptable to the Authority, which have been developed and documented by the State of Design, holder of the type certificate, supplemental type certificate, or a material, part, process, or appliance approval under Part Manufacturing Authorization (PMA) or Technical Standard Order (TSO).
Overhaul
The restoration of an aircraft aeronautical product by using methods, techniques, and practices acceptable to the Authority, when it has been disassembled, cleaned, inspected as permitted, repaired as necessary, reassembled, and tested to the same tolerances and limits as a new item, using either new parts or used parts that conform to new part tolerances and limits. This work will be performed by only the manufacturer or an organization approved by the manufacturer, and Authorized by the State of Registry.
