Air System Flashcards
Trim Air is from what systems?
1 & 3 to a Common Trim Air Manifold
If you turn off both packs 1 & 3 is trim air available?
No
The trim air manifold runs through which compartment?
The avionics bay
External air can be hooked up into which systems and which side of the airplane?
System 1 & 2 on the left side
Will external air operate the packs?
Yes, packs 1 & 2
Conditioned air hooks into which side of the airplane? Will it operate the packs?
The right side. No it bypasses the packs and goes directly to the common conditioned air distribution manifold.
When does avionics cooling start?
With AC power application
How many cooling fans are in the avionics bay? How about the CAC? How many run at a time?
3 cooling fans in both. Only one runs at a time, the others are backups.
On TO, how is the avionics exhaust fan and venturi configured? When will they change?
Avionics exhaust fan is ON, Venturi (shut-off valve) closed.
It opens after TO at 1.5psid and the fan turns off
Flow light in the Avionics Fan switch means what?
1) Insufficient air for cooling (avionics or CAC)
2) Cabin inflow is insufficient for pressurization
3) Cabin altitude >10,000ft
Avionics Fan switch override light means?
Exhaust Fan On and
Venturi valve Closed
How is the Air System Test started? What does it Test?
Annunciator Light Test Button Tests: TEMAC Trim Air Shut-Off (2 PRV’s) Engine 2 Anti-Ice Duct Manifold Failure Detection System Avionics Fans CAC Fans
Cabin Altitude Light means what? What happens?
Cabin pressure altitude >10,000 ft in AUTO or MAN takes ECON OFF (Packs to high flow)
Trim Air Switch Avionics Overheat means what?
Leak in the trim air manifold, both trim PRV’s will close.
Cabin Air Smoke light, will the Cargo Zone Cond. Air S/O valve close? What’s the difference between Auto and manual?
Only after you push the button. In auto it’ll reduce to single pack. In manual you have to do that first then select the Cab Air Smoke switch off
Pack 1 Flow light means?
Pack is commanded on with airflow is insufficient or pack is commanded off with flow present
What is the limitation for active engine pneumatic supplies?
Do not interconnect 2 or more active engine systems
Temp HI light means what? Does it automatically close the PRV?
Hot air downstream of the pre-cooler.
In auto it closes the valve. (Level 1)
In manual you have to close it. (Level 3)
MANF Light closes the PRV’s in both auto and manual?
True. But in manual you have to perform a decay check IAW QRH
#1 Manifold Alert means? #1 & 2 means?
Leak between #1 engine and the fuselage.
Leak at the forward left tunnel
2 Manifold Alert means?
Leak aft of the CAC
#3 Manifold Alert means? #1 2 and 3 means?
#3 means engine to fuselage and/or right forward tunnel All three means leak within the CAC
Does the red manifold light extinguish?
Once it cools down.
The manifold failure detection system protects:
