Natural Resource
Pollutants that are released into the air.
Emissions
A toxic chemical found in the atmosphere, caused by pollution.
Ozone
Precipitation that is more acidic than normal due to air pollution.
Acid Rain
A colorless, odorless gas that is radioactive
Radon
A group of gases that is the main cause of the hole in the ozone layer.
CFC’s
Small streams and rivers that feed into a main river
Tributary
The land area that supplies water to a river system.
Watershed
When water cannot pass through a material easily or at all.
Impermeable
Underground layer of rock that holds water and allows it to flow.
Aquifer
Chemicals that kill crop-destroying organisms, but are also polluting the soil.
Pesticides
Water and human waste washed down sinks, showers, and toilets.
