Air Exchange Rate Flashcards
Heating Systems
The appliance (furance and boiler), its distribution (ducts and pipes), any associated controls (thermostat)
Classification of heating systems
type, fuel, vent
Types of Heating Systems
Forced Air and Boiler
Boiler
Boiler heats water to produce steam or hot water for heating. Steam is distributed through pipes to steam radiators; hot water can be distributed through baseboard radiators or radiant floor systems, or can heat air via a coil.
Forced Air System
Furance heats air distributes through ducts using either fan or forced convection
Hear Pumps
alternative to furna and boilers. Use electricity to provide heating and cooling for a house. Heat pumps work by moving heat rather than generating it. More energy efficient
