5.4.5.1 Group I - Normal Destinations and Alternates
-Any scheduled Air Canada or Air Canada Rouge destination or alternate that is not listed under the
Jeppesen Air Canada Airport Qualification Page as a Group II or III Airport is considered to be a Group I
Airport
-During the transition process, and as required thereafter, a Captain is expected to conduct a self-review
-Group I Airport Qualifications are valid indefinitely and are transferable between aircraft types or Air
Canada and Air Canada Rouge
5.4.5.2 Group II - Pilot-in-Command Familiarization Airports
A Pilot-in-Command may operate into, or out of, these airports only if:
- The Pilot-in-Command has operated into, and out of, that airport within the preceding 12 months as
an operating flight crew member, or ADC qualified on type; or - The Pilot-in-Command has completed a thorough self-review of the airport facilities, approaches and
procedures as found within either the Jeppesen Route Manual information provided on the Airport
Qualification (19-XX) pages, or the Route Briefing Notes information.
5.4.5.3 Group III – Pilot-in-Command Qualification Airports
Means for establishing qualification include any one or a combination of the following:
- Completing an online LMS module or other training as described in the AC Tab ECoverage
APT.QUA. pages; or - Conducting a simulator familiarization session; or
- Operating into or out of the airport with a Training Captain or ACP.
A Pilot-in-Command may operate into, or out of, these airports only if:
- Recency requirement: The Pilot-in-Command has operated into, and out of, that airport within the
preceding 12 months as an operating flight crew member, or ADC qualified on type (a simulator
exercise for the designated airport may be used to maintain recency in this regard); or - Qualification requirement: The Pilot-in-Command has completed the qualification requirement
specified in the Airport Qualification Pages of the AC Tab ECoverage and the qualification has been
maintained by completing the approved recurrent training program requirements.
8.1.5 OFP Check
Flight crew members shall check and/or confirm the OFP for accuracy and acceptability as follows:
1. Flight number and date; and
2. Aircraft type and FIN; and
3. Compare DIS with G/C distance for gross errors; and
4. Verify that the ICAO routing and the Flight Plan route are identical.
5. Temperature, weather, turbulence, and other charts as deemed appropriate (e.g., volcanic ash
reports); and
6. Wind COMP approximates charted winds; and
7. Validity of Destination and Alternate(s); and
8. Reasonability of required fuel categories listed in BLOCK fuel; and
9. Terrain Clearance Check; and
10. Planned WEIGHTS are within limits; and
11. Crew Alerts; and
12. NOTAMS. The NOTAMS on the OFP are filtered/edited based on flight planned route and aircraft
type and provide relevant operational context. Unfiltered NOTAMS available in Jepp FD PRO and
WSI Pilotbrief Optima assist in enhancing situational awareness and are for reference purpose only
7.24.2 When the decision to divert has been made:
Follow guidance in AOM and QRH Normal. As a minimum, the following should be advised:
1. ATC
2. In-Charge FA
3. PA to passengers
4. ACARS Diversion message (must be sent even if in voice communication with Dispatch)
5.3.13 Below Standard Take-off Minima Qualification
a. Captain: RVR 600; and
b. FO: RVR 1200 or 1/4 mile
8.2.6.1 Aircraft Documentation
The aircraft shall have on-board:
1. Aircraft Journey Log; and
2. Aircraft Defect Log; and
3. Aircraft Documents Pouch; and
4. On-Board Library; and
5. Cabin Defect Log (Passenger Aircraft only
8.2.6.2 Aircraft Documents Pouch
- Certificate of Airworthiness; and
- Certificate of Registration; and
- Aircraft Radio License; and
- The Certificate of Noise Compliance is included in all Certificate of Airworthiness issued after May
1992
Logbook Service Check
Flight Crews are responsible to ensure arrival at destination within 72 clock hours of the
last check. MOC may authorize an extension
