What is the Strange Situation test (1st step)?
1-infant is brought into a room with mother and will play with toys /explore the room
What is the Strange Situation test (2nd step)?
A stranger enters the room and talks to mother.
What is the Strange Situation test (3rd step)
The mother leaves the infant with the stranger in the room (3 minutes).
What is the Strange Situation test (final step)
The mother returns and the stranger leaves and stays with the infant bin the room for 3 minutes.
What are the criticisms of the theory?
it identifies only the type of attachment to the mother. The child may have a different type of attachment to the caregiver(s).
