Settle the issue of Italian Irredenta (unredeemed Italy).
Settling the fate of territory in the north east where people spoke Italian but were under Austrian rule.
These lands included the South Tyrol, Trentino, Istria, Fiume, Trieste and parts of Dalmatia.
Trentino in particular worried Italians as Austria-Hungary could use it as a base for attack

Become an imperial power and gain colonies.
Important for accessing raw materials and new markets for goods.
Industrialists and those involved in trade supported grandezza (a drive for colonies)
What was the fourth aim of Italian foreign policy
Italy needed for living space as the country was over populated. This would hopefully stope people emigrating.
