– Literacy refers to the ability to read and write.
REASON:
Many are not learning basic skills like reading once they get to school. Save the Children’s Literacy Boost creating a culture of reading both inside and outside the classroom.

- -Directly impacts on a person’s health and their ability to participate within their family and community

- Worldwide millions are living with HIV/AIDS

- Goal- Eliminating stigma and discrimination
- Increase access for adolescents and youth to legal services
Malaria- Roll back Malaria
- Significant contributor to poverty in developing countries
- Totally preventable and treatable.
- The disease incapacitates individuals, stopping children from attending school and adults from working
REASON:
- Every Minute 1 child dies from malaria.

- Cannot only save lives but can help children reach their full potential
- 2,000,000 children die each year from easily preventable diseases

- Immunisation, one of the most cost-effective public health interventions,
- Has been protecting children everywhere against common yet potentially life-threatening diseases

- Unsafe drinking water can lead to spread of disease
- Water is essential for life and is required for drinking, bathing, cooking and sanitation
REASON:
- Over 650 million people live without safe water.
- 1 in 3 do not have access to adequate sanitation.
