Aid is when a country, organisation, or individual gives resources to another country.
What is official government aid?
. Aid from one government to another.

What is voluntary aid?

.aid may be specific to something, so receiving aid cannot use money/ resources for the most needed thing.

What is multilateral aid?
.aid provided by many countries
.Organised by global groups like the UN.
What is short term aid?
.Aid is usually delivered over days, weeks, months, up to a year.
.aimed at treating the symptoms of a problem e.g. food and shelter after a disaster.
What s long term aid?
.Usually over several years
.aimed at the cause of a problem e.g. education to promote sanitation and hygiene.

What can aid fail to do?
Reach the people who need it the most.
What can happen to areas that receive aid?
Areas can become dependent on aid, preventing reform.
What’s wrong with some projects?
.they can be large, top down, and capital intensive, making conditions worse for people
What is good about aid providing machinery or the money to buy it?
.it allows industries to set up
.increases job opportunities
How does aid providing investing in agriculture and water supplies help?
Decreases malnourished and dehydration.
How can aid help economic growth?
Ot improves transport links and builds power grids.
What does NGO stand for?
Non governmental organisation
What is soft power? (Aid)
By giving aid and creating dependency, some countries my side or trade more with you to keep it going.
