Q

Sheila’s relationship with Eric

A

Eric: “You told her. Why, you little sneak!” Sheila: “No, that’s not fair, Eric. I could have told her months ago, but of course I didn’t.” (pg 50) - exclamation mark shows Eric’s helplessness and his true powerlessness, he was relying on Sheila and trusted her - Sheila is loyal to Eric and they have a good relationship even though they do argue. It also suggests Sheila knows a lot more about Eric than her parents do.
