what is the agentic state?
where we give up our own free will, and see ourselves as an agent of those in authority
what is the agentic shift?
responsibilities are given up, and orders are followed without considering the consequence
what is the autonomous state?
when we act under our own power, decisions are based on our ideas of what is responsible to do
what is moral strain?
the feeling of great discomfort in giving up control, disagreeing with orders given to us
what is a defence mechanism?
denial, avoiding moral strain
what is evolution / social hierarchy?
believing we are born to form social hierarchies, and born with the autonomous state
what is socialisation?
through socialisation, as a child, we learn that sometimes we have to give up our autonomy and move into the agentic state
what is denial / rationalisation?
trying to put a logical spin on a negative action, not accepting something
