UNICEF - Objectives
Look after children’s welfare especially in developing countries by providing people with low cost community-based services in maternal and child health, nutrition, immunization, etc.
UNICEF - Functions
1) Protection of children with respect to their survival, health and well-being. done in cooperation with individuals, civic groups, governments and the private sector
2) Provides funds for training personnel, including health and sanitation workers, nutritionists and teachers.
3) Provides technical supplies, equipment and other aids, including paper,
textbooks, equipment and medicines to health clinics, and pipes and pumps for clean water supply to villages
4) Makes efforts to prevent diseases such as tuberculosis (T.B.), malaria, eye diseases, skin diseases, etc. Universal child immunization against preventable diseases was one of the leading goals of the UNICEF
