There were slogans, parades, campaigns (heroism), nasty elections.

Jackson believed “anyone can rule” as president.
versus
Jefferson believed “anyone with talent, education, and merit can rule” as president.
Why did Jackson veto the “bank?”
the bank was corrupted. It was the “arms of the rich.” Rich were setting the interest rate.
