  • 1430’s China becomes isolated/ antisocial due to internal issues with the north (Mongolians), which made a Navy not important at the time.

  • Technology- A Portuguese ship called the Caravel was used the sail through water and was better with use of the compass
  • National Unity- (Spain) A Portuguese Prince (Henry The Navigator) was the leader in funding exploration of the world.
