Postmodern
sociologists identify this age with a time for experimenting with new styles and fashions
Margareta Mead (1928)
argued that ‘storm and stress’ associated with youth is culturally specific and not found in all cultures
Clarke (1976)
argue age about Rebellion and Resistance. Resisting the norms and belling against their relatively low status in society where money dominates. (consumers culture)
Abrams (1959)
argued that this age group were all part of the same youth culture, at the same transitional stage in their life. During this stage they are learning & negotiating the path into adulthood
