They helped raise awareness using slave ships as propaganda to show how packed it was and the horrible conditions they were in while travelling through the middle passage

It meant there was more competition making it harder to be the top dog of the market

The fact there were so many slaves being sold creating inflation meant that slave prices dropped

Some sugar warehouses were burnt down as a result costing the UK millions and countries like Brazil and China created competition for sugar trade
Why did the economical decline in the slave trade change the governments mind
As previously the only reason the government turned a blind eye to slavery was due to the income and now that is no longer there they started to take action

They helped change the public eye and pass abolition laws to do with the slave trade

In 1787 Wedgewood created anti-slavery medaillons and sent them away

How crowded it was as the boats were only meant to carry 451 people and carried 600 slaves, illness spread throughout due to the uncleanliness of the ship, rough waves battered the slaves, slaves would be beaten, very little oxygen as they couldn’t like candles meaning it was dark aswell
