depressed mood that is abnormal for most of the day almost everyday for the past 2 weeks - largely influences by circumstances
loss of interest or pleasure
decreased energy or fatigue

loss of confidence or self esteem
unreasonable feelings of guilt or self reproach or excessive guilt
recurrent thoughts of death by suicide or any suicidal behaviour

antidepressents

Mania
a state of feeling, or mood, that can range from near-normal experience to severe, threatening illness
(not really a symptom - associated with grandiose ideas, disinhibition, loss of judgement, similarities to stimulant drugs!!)
must last one week and effect day to day life
agoraphobia
avoiding places or situation that might cause you to panic
what are measurement tools to dictate how severe/ stage of depression/ mental health disorder?
SCID (structured clinical interview for DSM disorders)
PHQ -9 (patient health questionnaire)
