AFDX Flashcards
1
Q
properties of AFDX
A
- done through switches
- bidirectional
- asynchronous (send info when need to)
- bandwidth limited to avoid jamming
- switches control and regulate
2
Q
hwo is AFDX different from regular ethernet
A
- two cable between each (cable is a quadrax) -> redundancy management
- deterministic (though jitter bc asnchronous)
- end to end integrity through CRC checking
- logical separation of bandwidth -virtual link concept
- guarenteed usable bandwidth (traffic shaping in switches-> sequencing))
- deterministic network config (static routing configuration)
3
Q
what two things contribute to the data rate of the virtual link concept
A
BAG (band allocation gap) -> time Frame size (# bits)
4
Q
where is virtual link ID found?
A
in MAC address and IP address destinations
