• Remove mushroomed metal
• Soap and water if appropriate
• Light coat of oil on metals avoids rust
• Cutting tools/pickhead axe sharpen 1/4” at 3/4” from blade tip
• Pike pole is well dressed and squared
• Wood handles use medium grade sand paper then fine grade

12-14 gauge wire tightly wrapped around handles 6” down. Wire then wrapped with electrical tape. Wired and taped again.
