Any large number of casualties produced in a relatively short period of time that exceeds unit support capabilities

Advantages of aeromedical evacuations
Timely treatment
Movement of patients over relatively long distances in short periods of time
Movement of patients over terrain where ground evacuations would be difficult or impossible
Patients to be moved directly to the MTF best equipped to deal with there conditions
Basic areomedevac missions and cabapilities
D- delivery of whole blood and biologicals
A- air crash and rescue support
M- movement of medical personnel and supplies
