Anaphylaxis: 0.01mg/kg with a max dose of 0.5mg IV infusion 0.1-1mcg/kg/min, titrated to effect
Nebulized Epi/Upper Airway Stridor: Same as adult

Cardiac arrest, Shock, profound bradycardia

None in a life threatening emergency

Cardiac Arrest: 1mg IV/IO q 3-5min
Bradycardia: 2-10mcg/min, Titrate to effect

Acute asthma, allergic, premature infants & neonates
What are the side effects of Benadryl?
Thickened bronchial secretions, drowsiness, potential anticholinergic effects/excitable state, especially in children

25-50mg IM/IV, 15-30 min onset

Allergic, bleeding GI ulcers

Heart burn, tinnitus, GI bleeding

160-325mg PO (2-4 chewable 81mg tablets)

What are the effects of Narcan?
Displace narcotics at the receptor sites in the CNS. Attached to the receptors & inhibits the action of narcotics.
What are the indications of Narcan?
Known or suspected opiate overdose, respiratory depression with known or suspected opiate overdose
What are the contraindications of Narcan?
Allergic
What are the side effects of Narcan?
Nausea Vomiting (N/V), seizure, tachycardia, hypotension, withdrawal
What’s the adult dose of Narcan?
0.4-4mg IV/IM/IO/IN, Usual initial dose is 0.4-2mg IV/IM, up to 4mg IN
What’s the Pediatric dose of Narcan?
0.1mg/kg IV/IM/IN
IV/IM max dose is 2mg
IN max dose is 4mg

Vasodilator, Nitrate, Antianginal
What effects does Nitro have?
Nitrate converts to nitric oxide, resulting in vasodilation.
What are the indications of Nitro?
ACS, AMI, Angina, CHF exacerbation/pulmonary edema
What are the contraindications of Nitro?
Allergic, right ventricular infarction, BP <90, increased ICP, HR <90bpm, HR >100bpm in the absence of heart failure, use of ED drugs in the last 3 days.
What are the side effects of Nitro?
Headache, hypotension, paradoxical bradycardia, tachycardia, flushing
What’s the Adult dose of Nitro?
0.3-0.4mg SL, every 5 min. up to 3 times.
