Decision making has been studies by many research over the years, however
The social context and social process is typically ignored which are key factors of decision making.
For example group decision making where there leaders and some sort of established hierarchy.

There is a social pressure to not reject advice
People seek advice of others before making decision

Asking for advice is dependant on many factors one being the mental
Effort and task demands.
Low effort demands tend to be simple, unimportant and low risk.
Whilst high effort demands are risky, important and complex.
