The function of INFORMATIVE advertisements
- creates awareness of brands, products, services and ideas
- can educate people about the attributes and benefits of new or established products ( looks at using facts to highlight benefits of a product)
The function of PERSUASIVE advertising
- tries to convince customers that a company’s services or products are the best.
- Its goal is to influence consumers to take action and switch brands, try a new product, or remain loyal to a current brand.

3) By professional-looking pple (It iz i rutfh ze profezzionalz az zu can zee i have me trusty briefcaze)
Pathos
1)F ear- “GET THIS OR ELSE MWAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH”
2) Desire- “Half naked pple ‘where your clothes at?’
3) Empathy -“ please just save these poor school children from going over the edge, sue the education system today!!”
4) Hunger- The best looking most scrumptious looking thing on the world juicy as hell and so damn gorgeous, omg please just let me get one bit PLEASE I NEED IT OR I WILL EAT GRASS”

What is message?

The characteristics of a population (age, gender, profession, income, education, ethnicity, education, geographical location etc.)

Techniques used to influence opinions, emotions, attitudes or behaviours.
It appeals to emotion not intellect
