A

Parliamentary made law is made by elected representatives and gives affect to manifesto commitments. Parliament is answerable to electorate as general election every 5 years

Why is consultation a +

A

Law can be made after detailed inquiry or report from law commission. Wide consultation possible before parliament makes changes to law e.g. green and white papers for interested bodies and objective/amendments can be made to proposed laws to make more effective

A

Bills are subject to high levels of scrutiny and detailed considerations as must pass number of stages before becoming law. MPs and lords of oppsosung parties examine and vote so it is balanced and objective

A

Parliament can reform and consolidate whole areas of law into one act which makes law simpler to find. E.g. fraud act 2006 abolished old offences of deception and fraud and created a newer, simpler structure of offences
