Osteomyelitis
inflammation of bone due to infection
Septic Arthritis
bacteria multiply in synovial fluid (gonorrhorae)
Avascular Necrosis (AVN)
death of bone and bone marrow due to loss of blood supply
Ankylosing Spondylitis
inflammation of ligaments attached to spine, “bamboo spine”
Sjogren syndrome
chronic arthritis affecting moisture producing glands (autoimmune rheumatic)
Psoriatic Arthritis
seronegative inflammatory disease, psoriasis
Reiter Syndrome
reactive arthritis after venereal disease or dysentery, inflammation of ligaments and tendons
Gout
elevated levels of uric acid with deposits of crystals in joints, soft tissue and kidneys
Paget’s Disease
British men – inc bone resorption, excessive unorganized new bone, bone marrow change to vascular tissue (similar to adhesion)
Myofascial Pain Syndrome
trigger points - taut skeletal muscle, painful with compression, stretch, overload or contraction of tissue
Ehler’s Danlos Syndrome
VELVETY SKIN, hypermobile joints, abnormal scar formation
Marfan’s Syndrome
very tall, thin, hypermobile
aortic root dilation, ectopia lentis, fibrillin type, family history
Spondyloarthropathies
chronic inflammation spine and SI joint
