invloves exposing the entire abdomen from nipple line to groin and using inspection, auscultation, percussion, and palpation
What should you do before and after immobilization?

What are the EMT parts of this protocol?
C-spine, general impression, ABC, LOC, assess respiratory effort, GCD, pulse ox, identify MOI, stabilize impaled objects
How should you handle severe hemorrhage from open penetrating injury?
control bleeding with well amed direct pressure, once controlled apply dry sterile dressing.
How should you handle evisceration with protruding abdominal contents?
Loosely wrap any protruding abdominal contents with a sterile dressing moistened with NS and cover entirety with an occlusive dressing
Paramedic part of protocol
Consider intubation, OG tube, cardiac monitor, two large bore IVs and titrate to systolic BP of 90 to 100. Obtain and interpret 12 lead. Consider Fentanyl, ondansetron. Reassess vitals every 5 minutes.
