Penicillins
Common: rash, GI Sx, increased liver enzymes
Rare: electrolyte disturbances, neurotoxicity, bleeding
Macrolides - clarythromycin
Common- taste disturbances, GI Sx, abdominal pain
Rare: pulmonary infiltration with eosinophilia, torsades de pointes, hypersensitivity
Nitroimidazoles - metronidazole
Common; gi Sx, neurotoxicity, metallic taste
Rare: hypersensitivity, angioedema, sjs
Quinolones - ciproflixacin
Common- rash, itch, gi sx, dyspepsia
Rare: phototoxicity, fixed drug eruption, crystalluria
Tetracyclines
Common: gi Sx, tooth discolouration, photosensitivity
Rare: rash, nail discolouration, eosophageal ulcers
Antifolates - trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole
Common: fever, itch, rash, gi Sx, hyperkalemia
Rare (t): leukopoenia, thrombocytopenia, sjs
(T/S): mesoblastic anaemia, erythema, hypoglycaemia
