alpha 1 blockade leads to decrease TPR –> decreased BP, reflex tachycardia
Phenoxybenzamine
- Non-Selective alpha blockers
- Short term use in pheochromocytoma
- noncompetitive (irreversible). makes covalent bond with alpha 1 receptors –> reflex tachycardia, miosis, inhibition of ejaculation
