Adrenergic Receptors/effects Of Activation Flashcards
Alpha 1
Innervates most vascular smooth muscle –> contraction
Pupillary dilator muscle –> contraction (dilates pupil)
Pilomotor smooth muscle –> erects hair
Prostate –> contraction
Heart –> increases force of contraction (+ inotropy)
Alpha 2
Platelets –> aggregation
Adrenergic/cholinergic nerve terminals –> inhibits transmitter release
some vascular smooth muscle –> contraction
Fat cells –> inhibits lipolysis
Beta-1
Heart –> +chronotropy and +inotropy
Juxtaglomerular cells –> increase renin release
Beta-2
Respiratory, uterine, and vascular smooth muscle –> promotes smooth muscle relaxation
Skeletal muscle –> promotes K+ uptake
Human liver –> Activates glycogenolysis
Beta-3
Bladder –> Relaxes detrusor muscle
Fat cells –> Activates lipolysis
Dopamine-1 receptor
Smooth muscle –> dilates renal blood vessels
Dopamine-2 receptor
Neve endings –> modulates transmitter release
