Adrenergic Agonists Flashcards
Reuptake is inhibited by (3 drugs)
1- cocaine
2- Tricyclic
3- imipramine( antidepressant)
Increase Renin release by which receptor?
B1 receptor = then causes increase in BP.
Increase glycogenolysis & gluconeogenesis occurs by which receptor?
α1 & B2 receptor
Increase production of aqueous humor by which receptor?
B2 receptor in the ciliary epitheliam .
Powerful cardiac stimulant is
Epinephrine. Also it increases O2 consumption. So it is CI in Angina.
A drug mediate increases systolic pressure and decreases diastolic pressure is
Epinephrine.
Isoprenaline
A drug Inhibits release of histamine is
Epinephrine
Physiological antagonist of histamine
Epinephrine
The indication of epinephrine (6 uses)
1- anaphylactic shock
2- cardiac arrest
3- cardiogenic shock.
4- local hemostatics
5- combined with local anesthetics
6- bronchospasm.
The adverse effects of epinephrine on CVS &CNS
CVS: tachycardia, angina , hypertension, cerebral hemorrhage , coldness extremities.
CNS: headache, restlessness, nasal stuffiness.
The CI of epinephrine ( 4 points)
1- cardiovascular disease
2- hypertension
3- hyperthyroidism
4- diabetes mellitus.
A drug mediate increases in both systolic pressure and diastolic pressure is (3 drugs)
Norepinephrine + amphetamine.
Reflex bradycardia as a result of using
Norepinephrine
Use in cases of Shock
Norepinephrine (NE) : causes increase both systolic (SBP) & diastolic pressure (DBP)
Adverse effects of norepinephrine
Potent V.C can cause blanching of skin, tissue necrosis. impaired circulation can be treated with phentolamine (non selective α blocker) or terbutaline (selective B2 agonist)
