Q

What is corticosteroid binding globulin

A

binds 90% of cortisol normally (more bound in pregnancy, estrogen administration, and hyperthyroidism) (less bound in hypothyroidism and protein deficient state)
*Dexamethasone (synthetic corticosteroid) binds albumin rather than CBG
